KTVH, Cordillera Communication’s station in Helena, Montana, is searching for a full-time Sports Director to anchor our early evening and late newscasts. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator who can create dynamic, sports stories and features.

This person will anchor our nightly sports segments in the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts covering the Helena and Great Falls, Montana markets. They will produce sports highlights and feature stories. The job requires a candidate who can:  produce and present stories for television, digital and social media platforms, ensure all content meets company quality standards, write and deliver content in professional, clear and concise manner, respond to breaking news and other situations as necessary, conduct live and recorded interviews, edit content as needed, and participate in promotional activities, including public appearances.

Required Skills:

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting or related field, and the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. They must work well in a team environment and have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent news judgment with knowledge of local and regional sports events is required. Candidate must be able to motivate and guide others. Candidates must also have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

One year of anchoring, reporting and producing experience is preferred, but strong candidates with minimal experience will be considered.
